Multi V-belt kits for mild-hybrid models

Repair kit consisting of V-ribbed belts and typical tensioning elements

Belt-driven starter-generators (BSG), such as the 48V Eco Drive system from Continental, achieve fuel savings of up to 15% in many modern hybrid drive systems, resulting in a corresponding cut in CO2 emissions. To ensure this continues to be the case following replacement of the belt, special belts are required that are capable of withstanding the specific operating demands of hybrid drive systems.

This is why we now offer special multi V-belt kits for mild-hybrid models. These kits contain both the multi V-belt itself and the tensioning elements that are customary on such drive systems, providing mechanics with everything required for carrying out repairs to hybrid vehicles with BSG systems safely and efficiently. The full range together with useful additional information can be found in the Product Information Center (PIC).

Benefits & features

Equipment

  • Multi V-belt
  • Tensioning elements

Notes

Replacement interval:

Multi V-belts along with other movable parts on the belt drive such as tension and idler pulleys are liable to aging and wear, and must therefore be checked and changed regularly. The check and change intervals are generally determined by the vehicle manufacturer and must be adhered to.

Continental recommends checking the system every 60,000 km and, when in doubt, replacing it every 120,000 km.

Storage:

  • Store in a dry, dust-free and cool place (ideally 15-25°C)
  • Avoid direct sunlight
  • Avoid contact with all liquids (oil, water etc.)
  • Maximum storage period: 5 years from date of production (see packaging)

Tips:

  • When needed, the torsional vibration damper (crankshaft pulley) or overrunning alternator pulley must also be replaced. Continental provides these separately.
  • Use ContiDrive App to measure tension
  • Determine belt wear using Conti Belt Wear Tester (BWT)
