New: Auxiliary water pumps for hybrid and electric vehicles

As the number of electrically powered and hybrid vehicles grows, so does the demand for the right spare parts. Now available from Continental: adjustable auxiliary water pumps for intelligent thermal management.

Vehicles with e-drive: a strong upward trend

Electric and hybrid vehicles will be an increasingly common sight in your workshops in the future: 64 percent more electric cars and 58 percent more hybrid vehicles were registered in Germany in 2020 alone. Although the number of vehicles with e-drive systems is still low compared to the total number of vehicles, there is a clear upward trend. Forecasts even predict that one in four new cars will be electrically powered by 2025.

Auxiliary water pumps in electric and hybrid cars

Thermal management poses a particular challenge in fully or partially battery-powered vehicles – because for the battery to remain efficient in the long term, it must be kept at a certain operating temperature. The complex thermal management in these vehicles is handled by several individual water pumps, each of which is responsible for cooling a different system. For example, if the water pump for the passenger compartment heater fails, only that pump has to be replaced – the battery cooling system remains unaffected. These auxiliary water pumps are individually adjustable, so they provide exactly the amount of coolant required for each system.

New in the range: adjustable auxiliary water pumps

Our program now boasts 17 types of adjustable auxiliary water pumps for electric and hybrid vehicles – and here’s another special advantage for you: if the engine or motor type you need to work on requires it, we’ll include the bracket and the heat protection element, so the replacement procedure will take less time. All our water pumps are manufactured in Germany in the usual OE quality, and as always they have a 5-year guarantee for workshops that are registered with us.
