Built for punishment – the new High Load tires for e-vehicles

Many things are different about e-cars. This applies not only to the engine and transmission – there’s also a lot to think about tire-wise. Our new High Load tires with their high load capacity index are the right solution for your workshop customers.

E-mobility is gaining momentum in Germany. As you know, this means a number of innovations for you as a workshop, because vehicles with electric or hybrid drive systems differ significantly from conventional combustion engines. This also applies to tires. The requirements are basically the same, such as short braking distances and low rolling resistance. so they wear out conventional tires relatively quickly. Their weight also requires tires with a higher load-bearing capacity, but they offer little latitude for such large tires – and that’s a difficult combination, especially for the heavy e-cars.

Tipp:

Many of your customers will be unaware that  e-vehicles wear out conventional tires up to 30% faster than cars with combustion engines – so this is a good opportunity for you to convince them with good advice.

New High Load tires for e-vehicles

You can introduce our new car tires for large electric and hybrid vehicles right away to the customers who have taken your advice to heart and want to buy special e-car tires. Our tire is the first with an “HL” load index designation. It has a load capacity almost 25% higher than standard tires, namely 825 kg (load index 101) per tire – and that’s 10% more than the well-known XL standard with a load index of 98 (750 kg) per tire. As a result, the tire offers good mileage and low rolling resistance, especially for heavy e-vehicles with their high acceleration, and a much lower rate of wear than standard tires.

Our HL tires are currently being manufactured for original equipment and will soon be available in the aftermarket. You’ll find more information here.
